We were honored to host Craig Buerstatte, Acting Director of the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration, yesterday, January 18 at the Innovation Hub at Broward College in Las Olas – Downtown Fort Lauderdale. As 2015 awardees with our partner, Career Source Broward, of their i6 Regional Innovation Program Competition Challenge Grant we were proud and excited to share with Craig lessons learned successfully launching and operating Start-Up NOW, Broward County’s premier early stage accelerator program for the past  year and a half. We thank Craig and the office he leads for their support, trust in our stewardship, and our shared vision. It has been a great alliance, and we look forward to greater collaboration with his office and other awardees through the sharing of best practices. I could not be prouder of the professional core team we assembled with Douglas Saenz, Nancy Leve, Jerilyn WardTerence Bentley and Michael O’Donnell. Special thanks to Mildred G. Coyne and Mason Jackson for their executive support role and to Margaret Delmont for sharing her experience with the program.
